Position Description
The Program Manager of the Main Or, CVOR, Sterile Processing Department, Minor Outpatient Procedures and Local Cystoscopy is responsible for leadership and management of the interdisciplinary healthcare team within the Surgical Program. The scope of the role includes inspiring others, effectively managing financial and human resources, overseeing clinical operations and promoting excellence in patient care. Working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team and using Lean principles the Program Manager will support and implement evidence based practices and continuing process improvements to meet unit, program and organizational goals. The Program Manager will be accountable for the development and management of quality improvement initiatives to ensure the best possible patient care and outcomes. The manager will manage the complex day to day activities within the OR, as well as develop and foster internal and external relationships with clients, community partners and service providers.
Position Requirements

– A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
– Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration preferred
– A current certificate of competency in good standing (licensure) from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
– Five (5) years of progressive leadership experience preferably including working knowledge in an operating room setting; Cardiac OR experience preferred
– CPNC Certification or equivalent preferred
– CSAO Certification or equivalent preferred
– Proven knowledge and application of Lean methodology
– Proven success working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
– Demonstrated success in human resource and financial management
– Demonstrated excellence in coaching and team building\
– Knowledge of funding sources, Quality Based Procedures, budgets, WTIS, SETP, RFP process
– Working knowledge of Meditech computer systems an asset
– Demonstrated creative and flexible leadership style, strong problem solving, critical thinking, conflict management, and prioritization skills.
