Reporting to the Mill Planning & Scheduling Supervisor, the Pipefitter/Welder/Coating Planner is accountable for developing high quality safe work plans and job work packages to be used for execution of Maintenance and Project activities at the Vanscoy Potash Operations facility.

Key Tasks:

  • Applies actual field condition information, relevant technical data, trade knowledge, personal experience, and where appropriate, input from maintenance, operations and technical resources to develop high quality executable plans.
  • Ensures all plans developed are consistent with the Agrium Planning Standards. This will include safety procedures, maintenance standards/procedures, identification of required resources, estimated task durations, materials, equipment and services required to execute the work identified.
  • Assembly of fully planned work into formal job packages for transport to Department Maintenance Groups and Services Groups.
  • Following the appropriate training, be able to effectively use required SAP functionality to meet requirements of the position.
  • Development and maintenance of Task Lists to ensure complete and accurate records consistent with Agrium planning standards.
  • Reports all safety concerns and takes corrective action for a safety hazard identified that could impact themselves or others.
  • Participation in functional focus groups and will provide cross function support/ coverage within the Planning and Scheduling Group.
  • Play a critical role not only ensuring your own safety, but also the safety of others. You will have direct accountability for ensuring familiarity and demonstrating the Commitment to Zero policy, leading with a safety mindset and modeling the 3 Safety Principles, modelling the 10 Tenets of Operation and having your own personal safety action plan.

  • Grade 12 education with a two-year technical/technologist diploma, journeyman maintenance trade or equivalent experience in the maintenance field.
  • 5+ years working or planning experience in an industrial process plant.
  • Knowledge of pipefitting, welding and coatings including paint, fiberglass and tank linings.
  • Computer-literate performer with the ability to type 40+ wpm with extensive software proficiency covering wide variety of applications. (SAP Preferred, MS Office, Outlook, Internet).
