The Pittsburg Manufacturing Plant is an important strategic piece of the global catalyst manufacturing network. This Finance in the Business role has an established seat at the Leadership table. Candidates who want to be a part of manufacturing from the frontlines and be a key player of a small high performing organization will thrive here.
The Finance Analyst provides strong business and financial leadership to this strategic catalyst manufacturing Plant by actively participating on the site Leadership Team and providing business and financial direction and controllership oversight. Also provides financially-oriented business support to the Head Office financial function.
Engagement in CI initiatives, business planning, investment decisions, asset transactions, and cost leadership are regular parts of the business decisions requiring involvement. There is the added requirement that the successful candidate provide controllership oversight at the Plant, ensuring that business controls are sound and fit-for-purpose.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Controllership duties in the area of assurance, internal controls and local finance leadership
  • Ensure that risk management processes are fit for purpose and embedded in the decision-making processes of the Plant Leadership Team
  • Ensure the execution of policies and procedures for the accounting department as defined by IFRS, Plant and corporate management, Group policies, and outside regulatory agencies
  • Ensure that inventories (products and spare parts) are physically counted in accordance with Company policies, properly controlled, and that reporting of inventory movements is sound and performed on a real-time basis
  • Manage processes around fixed assets to ensure that reporting is sound and that they are properly safeguarded. Review and approval of AFEs, ensuring proper accounting treatment, proper retirement data, cash forecast, inclusion of economics where necessary, etc.
  • Facilitate the annual planning/budgeting process for the site, and provide advice and support to the Plant Manager and the management team regarding spending constraints and proper spending protocols. Input approved budgets into SAP
  • Facilitate the annual product standard costing exercise, determine & calculate activity rates, review the appropriateness of new standards, and cost, mark & release new budgeted product standards
  • Coordinate monthly plant closing activities in the various departments (lab/shipping & receiving, production, purchasing)
  • Ensure that all monthly reporting requirements are satisfied in an accurate and timely manner
  • Organize, lead, and facilitate the monthly cost review meetings with the Plant Leadership Team
  • Plan and facilitate all financial audits that pertain to the Plant
  • Be an active participant and contributor to the HSS&E culture in the Plant
  • Provide supervision/leadership to 2 direct reports – one IT professional that supports both Pittsburg, Martinez & Michigan City and one administrative assistant that supports multiple function in the plant
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full time basis other than with current employer
  • Bachelor’s degree in the area of Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in financial analysis
  • Proven business savvy and leadership skills to lead/support financial initiatives across the Plant
  • Proven ability to lead work process improvements/standardization
  • Passion for cost leadership and driving out waste
  • Proven ability to network and influence others to accomplish work
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to partner with the Business but maintain the independence expected of Finance in the Business personnel
  • Financial and/or business management experience
  • Supervisory Experience
  • Must be able to effectively support (as well as challenge) activities conducted in many areas of the business
